New Snowshoeing Trails in Gatineau Park
According to a reliable source, new snowshoeing trails will be added to the existing network in the Gatineau Park. The existing winter map currently shows only 5 snowshoe trails (totaling 20 kilometers or approximately 12.5 miles):

According to a reliable source, new snowshoeing trails will be added to the existing network in the Gatineau Park. The existing winter map currently shows only 5 snowshoe trails (totaling 20 kilometers or approximately 12.5 miles):
- #60/61 (near Gatineau Park Visitor's Centre in Chelsea)
- #62 also known as Blanchet & Wolf's Trails (from Parking #13 near Meech Lake)
- #70/71 (from Parking #15 on Cross Loop road)
- #72 (from Parking #17 near Wakefield)
- #73 (from Parking #19 near Lac Philippe)

Thanks for the heads up and the link to the additional details.
Looking at the winter trail map, there are three cabins between XC trail #51 and snowshoe trail #73: Philippe, Des Pins & Renaud. Any idea which one will be linked by the new trail?
The summer trail map doesn't seem to leave any hints as to the path of the new trail.
No I don't. I'm not as familiar with the trails or cabins up there.
I think some of them are for sleeping and only one is a day shelter. I'm guessing it's that one.
The person I spoke to was a little vague in her description of just where the trail wandered.
According to the winter trail map, Philippe and Des Pins are cabins while Renaud is a shelter. If your guess is correct, the new snowshoe trail should hook up with the Renaud shelter.
