Black Diamond Dawn Patrol Hybrid Shell - A Quick Review & A First Look Inside
Kudos to MEC for the quick delivery upon receiving their shipment from BD!
My very initial impressions (more to follow in due time):
- very light weight
- nice feel to the fabric
- hood is generously size, can still cinch it down for use without helmet
- Large is long enough for my 6'4" frame (can't say that about their pants with 32" inseam)
- the pulls for the drawcord hem are inside the handwarmer pockets
- the internal stretch media pocket is nice
Since everyone has probably seen pics of the outside of the shell already, I thought I would share a few quick pictures of the inside. Since this is a hybrid version, these picture show the extent of the laminated C-Shell versus the unlaminated but more breathable soft-shell.
Here is the back of jacket,
and the front (small hole is for earphone cable),
along with BD's label inside the jacket.
Now waiting on matching Coefficient Hoody as a mid-layer, MEC (and other supliers) don't seem to have received these yet.
That's it for this lightning quick review, post a comment if you would like more specific details!
